What is it?
The Run Performance Lab has been a MCRRC member benefit for over 20 years. It is comprised of a volunteer staff of running coaches, podiatrists, physical therapists and shoe experts. Each participant is videotaped running on a treadmill. While spending about 10 minutes with each expert, you can ask questions about your training and any aches/pains, and the experts will transcribe their thoughts. These screening summaries and videotape plus information about the experts will then be emailed to you in about a week. You will also receive a hi-tech running shirt!
Whether you’re a new or experienced runner, the Run Performance Lab can help you reach your goals to improve fitness, minimize injury, or take your running to the next level.
You must be a MCRRC member to make an appointment for the Run Performance Lab. If you are not yet a member, you will have the opportunity to join MCRRC during your Run Performance Lab registration.
You can choose from three appointment times per clinic.
Please arrive at the lab 10 minutes before your appointment. You should plan to spend at least 45 minutes at the lab.
The lab is held at the offices of ProAction Physical Therapy located at 11820 Parklawn Drive, Suite 140, Rockville, MD 20852 (phone 301.881.2273). There is plenty of free parking.

***Athletes ages 12 & up are now welcome to participate in the Run Performance Lab. PLEASE NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE EVALUATION. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Each registration will require a non-refundable payment of $30. This cost is still much less than you will pay anywhere else for a similar analysis and will help the club to recover part of the costs associated with providing this excellent service. If for some reason you need to change your confirmed appointment, you will be allowed to reschedule, but only if it is greater than five days before your scheduled date.
Prior to your appointment, you must complete an Evaluation Form and bring it with you to the clinic. You will receive an email containing instructions about your appointment, as well as a copy of the Evaluation Form, the week before your scheduled appointment. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact Ashley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A CURRENT MCRRC MEMBERSHIP is REQUIRED to participate in this program. Please note that membership is NOT included in your program registration. PRIOR TO JOINING this program, you must become a member. If you are unsure if you have a CURRENT MCRRC Membership, please contact email@example.com for assistance. Otherwise, please click here to become a valued member.
We will use a private, online group to facilitate communications. Everyone will be required to join this group to participate in the program. Instructions on how to join this group will be provided by the Program Director.
The program director reserves the right in his sole discretion to refuse admission to the program or dismiss any individual from the program whom the program director believes is unsuited for running the specified distance or is unable to meet the demands of the training schedule, or is disruptive to other program participants. Those individuals will be denied entry into the program or dismissed from the program as appropriate. The program director also reserves the right to limit the number of participants in the overall program or in individual pace groups. MCRRC has a No Refund policy. Program registration fees cannot be refunded due to injury, schedule conflict or any other reason.
