Fall 10 Mile Program
Registration Opening Soon for the Inaugural MCRRC Fall 10 Mile Program!
MCRRC is offering a brand-new Fall 10-Mile Training Program. The longest run will reach 10-12 miles. By following the training plan and objectives, anyone can complete a 10-mile race. The program focuses on the Army Ten-Miler as the goal race and ends with the Rockville 10K/5K.
Prerequisites:
Program participants should be able to run (or run/walk) 4 miles continuously at a 15:00/mile pace or faster. The Army Ten-Miler, the goal race for this program, requires paticipants to maintain a 15 minute per mile or better to finish the race within 2 hours and 30 minutes. MCRRC Membership is required for participation in this program. If you are not a member, you will have the opportunity to join MCRRC during registration. Participants must be 18 or older to register.
Structure:
The 10 Mile Program offers two weekly in-person workouts – a track session on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at Montgomery College (Rockville) and long runs on Sunday mornings at various locations in Montgomery County. Participants are encouraged to complete 1–2 additional runs of 2–5 miles each or cross-training each week. Please note the track location is always subject to change at any time during the program, due to availability.
Participants will be placed in pace groups with others of similar pace. At least one pace coach will lead each pace group to keep participants motivated and safe during the group runs.
Cost: Online registration is $94.32 and is non-refundable. This price includes the registration + processing fee. You may pay less in processing fees per participant if you add more items to your cart.

Program Directors: Mary Travaglini and Craig Mathson
Mary is a Road Runner Club of America (RRCA) certified running coach who has been running MCRRC since 2011. Mary started running with the club after back surgery and the run/walk style of the 5K program made running possible! Mary has helped pace coach the 5K program and has co-directed the Fall 10K program for multiple years. Mary loves running with fellow members of the “back of the pack” that give her the motivation they give her to lace up and explore Montgomery County.
Craig became a member of MCRRC in 2017 through the Speed Development Program. His enthusiasm for running and helping others inspired him to become a coach, where he has successfully guided and motivated runners of all abilities. His coaching portfolio includes a wide range of programs such as the Spring 8K/10K, Fall 5K Run/Walk, Fall 10K, Winter 5K Run/Walk, Spring5K Run/Walk, and both Summer and Winter Half Marathon Programs. As an RRCA-certified coach, Craig leverages his experience and knowledge to support runners at all levels, drawing from his personal participation in numerous 5K’s to Half Marathons over the years.
