Established in the spring of 2013, The MCRRC Competitive Race Team is a co-ed racing team based in the greater Montgomery County, Maryland area. The team was established to recognize highly talented runners within MCRRC, promote competitive racing among club members, and increase the visibility of MCRRC at area races. We compete in road, track, cross country, and trail races. Our members are locally-competitive adult runners of various ages, united by a love of running fast, competing hard, and a desire to represent MCRRC.

Team Requirements
If you are a competitive runner in the Montgomery County area, please consider joining our team! We are seeking talented runners for our Men’s and Women’s Open and Masters categories. In order to be considered for the team, you must:
- Be registered as a member of the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC). Membership must be current in order to remain on the team. Click here to join the club!
- Meet or exceed our team’s standards of a 70% or greater age grade finishing time in at least two races within the previous 12 months, at two different distances (1 mile through marathon). You can calculate age grades by entering your recent performances into our Age Grade Calculator here.
- Agree to participate in at least 8 racing events during each calendar year. For team members who are unable to race due to injury or other circumstances, volunteering at club races also counts toward this participation requirement. In fact, volunteering for the club is always encouraged!
The above requirements must be met each year to maintain membership on the team. At the end of each calendar year, the captains review performances and participation to confirm ongoing team eligibility.
