Think SPRING Training!

Though it’s hard to imagine after the winter weather this week, let’s think warm thoughts & talk about spring training!

Registration is OPEN for all of our spring training programs! There is something for everyone in this mix, so pick which one best matches YOUR goals & register today!

First Time Marathon Program – this is a structured, coached, group-oriented program for people training to run their first marathon (26.2 miles).  Although our name includes the words “First Time”, our program is also applicable to people who are training for their second, third, fourth, or even fortieth (or more) marathons.  The FTM program is six months long.

8K Program – this program is designed for runners who have participated in at least one 5K to 10K race and would like to improve their speed and train in a group setting. The target race is MCRRC’s Eastern County 8K in August!

Beginning Women Runners – this low-key program, geared specifically for women,  will train you to complete a 5k (3.1 mile) race – whether you’ve never run before in your life or you’re easing back to running after an injury or childbirth, this is the program for you.

Spring Intro to Trails – this 5-week series is unique among MCRRC’s training offerings and as such we are a bit different and leaner than our program “cousins.” We will meet only on Saturdays, and there are no extras like shirts or award dinners. These are NOT PAVED trails. Instead, in the spirit of trail running, there is plenty of dirt, rocks & roots. We will focus on helping runners become more comfortable running on increasingly rugged terrain, as they explore a series of local trails.

Summer Half Marathon Program – this training program is designed to develop and improve a runner’s ability to complete 13.1 miles.  While the base training program enables success for those new to the distance, experienced runners will be challenged with program adaptations to help them meet their individual objectives. REGISTRATION OPENS ON 3/20!
