Discover another side of Rock Creek Park and join us for informal runs along the some of the best dirt trails in the area. Adapting to trail running is easier than you may think. If you are new, let the organizer know and he/she will partner you with an experienced trail runner. The rewards of trail running make it well worth the effort, so give one of these runs a try.

This run is open to anyone, but please be able to run five miles, with hills, at a modest pace. Three standard loops are available: 5-mile, 8-mile, and 11-mile. We have a “no drop” policy, so don’t worry about getting lost.

Finding the starting point can seem a little tricky. “Meadowbrook Stables” is a well-known landmark nearby, but the group gathers about 300 yards past the stables, where Meadowbrook Lane ends at a parking lot. Immediately upon entering the parking lot, look for the group gathering on your left behind the backstop for a baseball diamond.

The group has a communication forum on groups.io. Anyone can join.  The communication forum will be used in the event of workout cancellations, location changes, or time changes, so it’s highly recommended that all interested parties join the forum.
