The Dojo of Pain is an independent training group open to anyone who wants to show up and do the workouts, which are usually done on the perimeter road at Hains Point (East Potomac Park), which has been marked with four miles of 400m and 200m segments. Focus is on marathon training, with a 14 to 16 week progressive schedule leading to goal spring or fall marathons, but people in the group compete at all running events from 200 meters to 100 miles. Group size averages a dozen, men and women in about equal numbers. Suggest you get on the listserv so that you know what the workout will be for the following day.
