DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nThe City of Gaithersburg\, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club\, invites all runners and walkers to participate in a 5K Run/Walk in the magical setting of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival at Seneca Creek State Park. Winter Lights features more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays. Runners and walkers will utilize the roads through the Park during the race. Roads will be closed to traffic except for Emergency Vehicles and vehicles required for race management. \n  \nFor more information\, to register\, or volunteer\, please visit the race website. \n

DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nCome to Seneca Creek State Park to enjoy this multi-terrain 9K course\, the final event in the Trail Series.  The mileage may vary.  It’s somewhere between 5.5 – 6 miles! \n  \nCOURSE MAP: \nA course map can be viewed here. \n  \nREGISTRATION: \n\nMCRRC Members – \n\nThis race is part of our low-key race series and is FREE for MCRRC members.  Race registration is not required for members; however\, members must first signup for a 2026 bib & chip. Your bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race.  If you have a 2025 (or older) chip\, please bring it with you to exchange for your 2026 bib & chip.  If you are a new member\, or no longer have an older chip\, please remember to bring a $5 chip deposit with you.  If you already signed up for a personalized 2026 bib\, please do not sign up again – your personalized 2026 low-key bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race. \n\nNon-MCRRC Members – \nRegistration is open to non-MCRRC members at a cost of $22 (participants ages 18 & over) and $11.60 (participants under 18). This price includes the registration + processing fee. You may pay less in processing fees per participant if you add more registrations to your cart. Online registration will remain open through the start of the race\, so you can register online before leaving the house or from your smartphone at the race site.  Registering online before arriving to the race site is strongly encouraged. Bib and chip pickup will take place on race morning near the start area.  Volunteers will be available to assist you. Non-members can register here. \n\n\n  \nVOLUNTEER: \nMCRRC is a volunteer organization and our events are fully staffed by the hard work of our volunteers.  Without them\, our races wouldn’t be possible. SUMMARY:Turkey Burnoff 2026
DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nStart the holiday season by challenging yourself to some gently rolling hills in scenic Seneca Creek State Park as you run one loop for the 5-mile race\, or a second loop for twice the fun. The park deer occasionally make a cameo appearance and they don’t brake for runners! All participants need to be in the park by 7:50 AM. \n \n  \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS: \n8:o0 AM – 5 Mile Race \n8:00 AM – 10 Mile Race \n8:05 AM – 2.78-km Young Run (YS)  \n  \nTHE COURSE: \nThe course takes place on paved roads over rolling hills\, across a dam\, and through the woods. Both the 5 and 10 mile courses start and finish in the same location. \n5 Mile Race – Course Map \n10-mile Race – Course Map \n  \nPARKING: \nThe park has limited parking. Please make every attempt to carpool and arrive early. Per Seneca Creek State Park Management’s request\, the gate at the ranger’s booth (where you would pay the entry fee during warmer months) will be closed at 7:50 AM sharp. You must arrive before then in order to park in the grassy field near the Start/Finish area. If you arrive at 7:50 AM or later\, you will have to park in the admin office parking lot and walk or run half a mile to the start.
