Take on the One-Mile La Milla de Mayo THIS SATURDAY!

We are a few short days away from the 4rd Annual La Milla de Mayo (The May Mile) & it’s NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER! Online registration will remain open until noon on Saturday!
The race runs through Olde Towne, Gaithersburg on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from  5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event also features quarter and half-mile Kids Fun Runs allowing the whole family to participate! The event is perfect for those new to running or who want to improve their time, all in the quaint surroundings of Gaithersburg’s historic commercial center.

  

Attend the FREE RACE FESTIVAL, which takes place in Olde Towne Park on the corner of Summit and Diamond Aves. The festival includes:

  • a live Salsa band – Sol y Rumba will perform music from Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador
  • beer by Brawling Bear Brewing
  • two food vendors – DMV Empanadas and Canelas
  • dancing demos by Gloria de la Danza
  • arts & crafts and activities for the kids, including a free book giveaway
  • Mariachi band playing at the end of the race and during band intermission

Overall male and female race winners will each receive a beautiful glass award, sponsored by Lamb Awards. Age division winners will each receive a gift card sponsored by La Casita, and all racers will receive a race medal sponsored in part by Lamb Awards and the Montgomery County Road Runners Club. Event attendees can enjoy food bites sponsored by Red, Hot & Blue.  Other event sponsors include: Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, Classic Embroidery, DrinkMore Water and Gaithersburg Giants
