Sign up for the Winter Half Marathon Program TODAY!

That’s right – you read that correctly – Registration for the Winter Half Marathon Program is now OPEN!

Allow us to offer you a few reasons as to why you should join the program, in no particular order:

  • Common sense. You’ve already run more than a handful of 5K’s and 10K’s and this is just the natural next step in your addiction. But, rest assured, it’s a healthy addiction.  At least your running friends will think so! Speaking of running friends…
  • You’ll make some and they will keep you accountable in those cold winter months.  When you’re alarm goes off at the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning & you want nothing more than to stay in your nice, warm bed with dreams of sugarplums in your head, you’ll remember those poor saps in your pace group standing in the cold, waiting for YOU. Guilt ensues, you’ll lace up you running shoes, and you’ll be glad you did! Which brings us to #3….
  • Replentishing your calories is SO. MUCH. FUN!  Remember the aforementioned sugar plums? Maybe donuts or bagels are your kryptonite. Regardless – a guilt-free reason so eat carbs? Sign me up! Sign YOU up!

This year’s program will be led by Ken Earley and Karen Kincer and will train both experienced runners and those new to the half marathon distance.   While the goal race is the Rock N Roll Half Marathon on March 10th, the program can be adjusted for several other spring races and we also welcome those who just want a steady group to train with.

The program will meet Wednesday nights at the Montgomery College Rockville Track and Sunday mornings at various locations throughout Montgomery County.   Runs start December 3rd. Orientation will be held on November 29th at a location TBA, so keep an eye on our webpage for that information! Not sure if the program is right for you? Feel free to come to orientation PRIOR to registering, equipped with your questions!

Full details are available on our webpage  or you can email questions to winter_half@mcrrc.org.

So come out, get fit, get trained & stay in shape during the cold winter months!
