We are sorry to inform everyone that the awards banquet to be held after the Piece of Cake race has SOLD OUT and we have had to close registration.
As most of you know, the Golden Bull (which had a much smaller capacity than AMP) decided to close it’s doors very suddenly, leaving the club 4 weeks to find a brand new location for our awards brunch. This event has been consistent in RSVP numbers for several years – from the years of the tent at Seneca Creek Park through the last few years at the Golden Bull. Nonetheless, we built in an “increase,” ensuring we find a new venue with the capacity for more RSVP’s than the Golden Bull would allow.
This year, we unexpectedly had a surge in RSVP’s of over 20% more than anticipated. We apologize, but had no way to predict this new interest in the brunch.
While some can argue that this is a “good problem to have” (too many folks wanting to come celebrate the club rather than no one wanting to come), we have regretfully had to close down registration at this time. Due to county fire regulations, we simply cannot permit additional attendees in the space.
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RSVP’d and can no longer attend, PLEASE contact the office immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org so your space can be opened up for someone else.

Finally – due to this situation, we cannot permit entrance to the banquet to folks not on the RSVP list. Our volunteers will be checking names at the door this year. Please do not attend if you have not RSVP’d.
We will be evaluating alternative locations as well as different ways to structure this event starting next year, to accommodate this new interest.
