Even though temps are expected to near 80 degrees again by the end of the week, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t plan. Planning is good. Most runners are of the “planning type.” So what are you going to do all winter? Don’t let the cold keep you inside! It’s much easier to get out of your warm bed and out to run in the cold, when you have friends waiting for you. Trust us here.
So…. we’ve opened registration for all of our Winter Programs!
The Winter Half Marathon Program is for runners who are used to running middle distances and want to prepare for their first distance event or improve their half marathon performance times.
The Advanced Marathon Training Program (AMT) is for experienced marathoners who would like coaching support and training partners to prepare for a spring marathon or other distance event.
The Winter Trail Program is designed to teach and/or improve trail running skills for folks with all levels of trail running experience. The main focus will be training up for MCRRC’s Seneca Creek Greenway Marathon/50k in March, but folks going shorter distances will be accommodated and encouraged too.
The Winter 5K Run/ Walk Program is a time-based program that uses walking and running intervals at a comfortable pace that will either help you finish your first 5K or help you to maintain your mileage to complete an early Spring 5K or 10K (depending on your pace).
The Speed Development Program is designed for all runners who want to improve their running and increase their speed. If your goal is to run a sub-40 minute 10K or you just want to finish your first 10K after stepping up from the 5K race distance, this is the right program for you.
Again this year, we are offering an introductory special where participants can register for both the 2017 Speed Development Program and the 2017 Pike’s Peek 10K in one convenient location! This promotional package runs ONLY from 11/1/16 through 11/30/16. Please visit the Speed Development Program page to register.
We think it’s safe to say, we’ve got something for everyone this winter — register today!
