SUMMARY:Silver Spring Run
DESCRIPTION:Time: 10:00 AM every Saturday \nPlace: Kaldi’s Social House\, 918 Silver Spring Avenue\, Silver Spring \nContact: Nancy Oswald (nmoswald@yahoo.com) \nOverview: \nJoin us for a social\, non-competitive\, and low-key environment for participants of all paces. Each Saturday\, choose from a 3-\, 5-\, or 7-mile route in and around Silver Spring\, Takoma Park\, Takoma\, Brightwood\, and Rock Creek Park. This is a great run for those that like to run with others\, but not at the crack of dawn! In the summer\, the group will meet at 9:00 AM to get a cooler start. Municipal parking is available one block from Kaldi’s off Fenton Avenue. \nThe group has a communication forum using a Google Group and a Facebook Page (Silver Spring Run Club). Anyone can join. The communication forum will be used in the event of workout cancellations\, location changes\, or time changes\, so it’s highly recommended that all interested parties join the forum.

SUMMARY:Kemp Mill C(hills) 5K/10K 2026
DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nKemp Mill C(hills) 5K/10K is a scenic tour through the rolling hills of Kemp Mill. Once the race starts\, runners may choose to turn around early and complete the 5K race\, or continue on for the extra challenge (and hills!) of the 10K race. \nBoth distances start and finish at Kemp Mill Elementary School and loop through the neighborhood on open roads.  Pre- and post-race activities will take place inside the school. \n  \nCOURSE MAPS: \n5K Course | 10K Course \n\n  \nREGISTRATION: \n\nMCRRC Members – \n\nThis race is part of our low-key race series and is FREE for MCRRC members.  Race registration is not required for members; however\, members must first signup for a 2026 bib & chip. Your bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race.  If you have a 2025 (or older) chip\, please bring it with you to exchange for your 2026 bib & chip.  If you are a new member\, or no longer have an older chip\, please remember to bring a $5 chip deposit with you.  If you already signed up for a personalized 2026 bib\, please do not sign up again – your personalized 2026 low-key bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race. \n\nNon-MCRRC Members – \nRegistration is open to non-MCRRC members at a cost of $22 (participants ages 18 & over) and $11.60 (participants under 18). This price includes the registration + processing fee. You may pay less in processing fees per participant if you add more registrations to your cart. Online registration will remain open through the start of the race\, so you can register online before leaving the house or from your smartphone at the race site.  Registering online before arriving to the race site is strongly encouraged.  Non-members can register here. Bib and chip pickup will take place on race morning near the start area.  Volunteers will be available to assist you. \n  \n\n\nVOLUNTEER! \nMCRRC is a volunteer organization and our events are fully staffed by the hard work of our volunteers.  Without them\, our races wouldn’t be possible. DESCRIPTION:Time: 7:00 PM every Monday \nPlace: Lakelands Park Pavilion\, 1368 Main Street\, Gaithersburg \nContact: Paul Hasson (runphrun@gmail.com) and Lisa Levin (levinreichmann@gmail.com) \nOverview: \nCome join a revival of the Monday night Lakelands/Kentlands group run. This is a new run to the MCRRC weekly offering and the only Monday drop-in group run. We run a 3- or 5-mile route through the Lakelands and Kentlands neighborhoods that includes much of the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K route. Currently\, the majority of the group sticks to a 10:00-10:30/mi pace. If you plan to run slower or faster\, please make sure to be familiar with the route maps (below) as we run in the dark during the winter months and want to make sure everyone makes it safely back to the starting point. As the group grows\, we hope to have more pace groups represented. \nThe group will meet under the Pavilion. Plenty of parking is available in the parking lot\, Main Street\, and neighborhood side streets.
