DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nDust off those spikes for the Midsummer Night’s Mile! It is a track mile\, run in heats\, and part of our Championship Series and Youth Series. \nThe anticipated heats are: \n0. Youth Run\n\n\n1. Runners with expected times greater than 9:30.\n2. Runners with expected times greater than 8:00 up to 9:30.\n3. Runners with expected times greater than 7:15 up to 8:00.\n4. Runners with expected times greater than 6:30 up to 7:15.\n5. Runners with expected times greater than 6:00 up to 6:30.\n6. Runners with expected times greater than 5:35 up to 6:00.\n7. Runners with expected times greater than 5:00 up to 5:35.\n8. Runners with expected times of 5:00 or less.\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION: \n\nMCRRC Members – \n\nThis race is part of our low-key race series and is FREE for MCRRC members. Race registration is not required for members; however\, members must sign up for a 2026 bib and chip. Your bib and chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race. If you have a 2025 (or older) chip\, please bring it with you to exchange for your 2026 bib and chip. If you are a new member\, or no longer have an older chip\, please remember to bring a $5 chip deposit with you. If you already signed up for a personalized 2026 bib\, please do not sign up again – your personalized 2026 low-key bib and chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race. \n\nNon-MCRRC Members – \nRegistration is open to non-MCRRC members at a cost of $22 (participants ages 18 & over) and $11.60 (participants under 18). This price includes the registration + processing fee. Online registration will remain open through the start of the race\, so you can register online before leaving the house or from your smartphone at the race site. Registering online before arriving to the race site is strongly encouraged. Non-members can register here. Pick up your bib and chip near the start area\, before the race. Volunteers will be available to assist you. \n\n\n  \nYOUTH RUNS: \nThere will be no timing chips used for the youth series runs. Youth Run participants will run first\, in heat 0. The youth run is free\, but all participants must be registered by a parent or guardian prior to race day (members and non-members). Youth Run registration can be found here. \n  \nVOLUNTEER: \nMCRRC is a volunteer organization and our events are fully staffed by the hard work of our volunteers. Without them\, our races wouldn’t be possible. Volunteers are needed for this event. SUMMARY:Rock Creek Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Time: 7:30 AM every Saturday \nPlace: Candy Cane City Playground Parking Lot\, 8200 Meadowbrook Lane\, Chevy Chase \nContact: David Schrock (david.schrock@gmail.com) \nOverview: \nDiscover another side of Rock Creek Park and join us for informal runs along the some of the best dirt trails in the area. Adapting to trail running is easier than you may think. If you are new\, let the organizer know and he/she will partner you with an experienced trail runner. The rewards of trail running make it well worth the effort\, so give one of these runs a try. \nThis run is open to anyone\, but please be able to run five miles\, with hills\, at a modest pace. Three standard loops are available: 5-mile\, 8-mile\, and 11-mile. We have a “no drop” policy\, so don’t worry about getting lost. \nFinding the starting point can seem a little tricky. “Meadowbrook Stables” is a well-known landmark nearby\, but the group gathers about 300 yards past the stables\, where Meadowbrook Lane ends at a parking lot. Immediately upon entering the parking lot\, look for the group gathering on your left behind the backstop for a baseball diamond. \nThe group has a communication forum on groups.io.
