SUMMARY:Cabin John Kids Run 2026
DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nThis race is for kids 17 years and under and part of the MCRRC Youth Series. Events will begin at 9:00AM at Cabin John Regional Park (7450 Tuckerman Lane) in Bethesda\, MD.  In the interest of promoting youth fitness\, these races are free to all participants ages 17 and under\, but participants must be registered by a parent. \n  \nRACE SCHEDULE: \n9:00AM – 0.25mi Young Run (YS) \nThe 0.50 mile (YS) and 1 mile (YS) Young Runs will begin after the 0.25 mile event. \n  \nLOCATION & ARRIVAL: \n7450 Tuckerman Lane\nBethesda\, MD 20817\n\nIn order to start promptly at 9:00 AM\, please arrive BY 8:45 AM to allow plenty of time for parking. Please avoid using the Westlake entrance after 8:45 AM\, as this is the area the kids will line up.\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION: \nThere will be no timing chips used for the youth series runs.  The runs are free\, but all participants must be registered by a parent or guardian prior to race day (members and non-members). Youth Run registration can be found here.  Parents or Guardians do not need to register for the young runs to accompany your child.  You are welcome to jump right in with them\, if needed! \n\n  \nVOLUNTEER! \nMCRRC is a volunteer organization and our events are fully staffed by the hard work of our volunteers.  Without them\, our races wouldn’t be possible. DESCRIPTION:RACE OVERVIEW: \nJoin us for a hilly 5K mostly along the Matthew Henson Trail between Georiga Avenue and Layhill Road\, with brief stretches at the start and finish along Rippling Brook Drive and several wooden bridge crossings. \n  \nCOURSE MAP: \nA course map can be viewed here. \n  \nREGISTRATION: \n\nMCRRC Members – \n\nThis race is part of our low-key race series and is FREE for MCRRC members.  Race registration is not required for members; however\, members must first signup for a 2026 bib & chip. Your bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race.  If you have a 2025 (or older) chip\, please bring it with you to exchange for your 2026 bib & chip.  If you are a new member\, or no longer have an older chip\, please remember to bring a $5 chip deposit with you.  If you already signed up for a personalized 2026 bib\, please do not sign up again – your personalized 2026 low-key bib & chip will be waiting for you at any 2026 low-key race. \n\nNon-MCRRC Members – \nRegistration is open to non-MCRRC members at a cost of $22 (participants ages 18 & over) and $11.60 (participants under 18). This price includes the registration + processing fee.
