Capital Crescent 5K & 5K Challenge
July 6 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Join us after the fireworks, as MCRRC returns to the Capital Crescent trail with a 5K designed to challenge & delight! Starting just off the trail at the Washington Episcopal School, runners will travel over River Road and down the CCT for a speedy out-and-back race.
For those looking for a real test, we offer the 5K CHALLENGE: Finish the race, then set out to run the course again (and again?). The runner who completes the most 5K loops in an hour wins a special prize!
***IMPORTANT NOTE ON SAFETY***
It’s not fun, but it must be said & attention must be paid: the CCT is a HIGHLY-TRAFFICKED trail that’s popular with runners and cyclists alike. All runners MUST stay on the right-hand side of the trail & take care when passing. Stay alert to stay safe and you’ll run better, too.

The race is part of our low-key club race series and is free for MCRRC members, $10 for non-members 18 and over, and $5 for non-members under 18. Registration is race-day only starting an hour before the race. Use the Low Key Club Race Entry Form.
