Monday At Kentlands
You may actually start looking forward to Mondays by doing this run, one of the most social (and fun) of the weekly MCRRC workouts. It's ideal for beginning runners wanting to improve their pace and distance, and for veteran harriers looking for a leisurely recovery run after a weekend race.
The run begins at the Kentlands Clubhouse in Gaithersburg every Monday at 7:00 PM. Distances are between 5-7 miles. Pace groups usually range from 7 to 10:30 minutes per mile, however all paces are welcome (for information on paces of 10+ minutes per mile, please refer to the BOP program. A group leader is always available to drop back and run with those who are not familiar with the course. Runners are typically back at the clubhouse by 8:00 PM.
In the warmer months, the group usually runs the scenic, shady trails in nearby Seneca Creek State Park. During the year when it gets dark before 8:00 PM, the run goes through neighborhood streets or along Great Seneca Highway. Here is a course map. Runners are encouraged to wear reflective vests during the fall and winter months.

Directions to the Kentlands Run
From Rockville (via Route 28): Follow Route 28 West, turn right on Tschiffely Square Road (approximately 4 miles past the I-270 exit). At the 5th stop sign take a left and the Kentlands Clubhouse entrance is the first right - 485 Tschiffely Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Parking available on the street.
From the Beltway: I-270 North to Exit 9B - 370 West - Sam Eig Highway. 370 West for 1.5 miles, then Right to Great Seneca Highway North for 1.5 miles. Left to Kentlands Blvd (pass Kentlands Shopping Plaza on right). Straight through traffic circles. Left at 2nd stop sign after shopping plaza to Tschiffely Square Road. Right at stop sign to Chestertown St. Quick Left to Tschiffely Square Road. Kentlands Clubhouse entrance is the first left - 485 Tschiffely Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Parking available on the street.
